Scientists at Australian National University developed a tractor beam on water. According to Dr. Horst Punzmann, the team leader, they “figured out a way of creating waves that can force a floating object to move against the direction of the wave.” The wave-generated tractor beam draws items to it.
Deflector or Plasma Shields
Students at the University of Leicester researched the possibility of creating Star Wars-type deflector shields to protect a spaceship from enemy laser fire in today’s world. There must be a strong magnetic field to contain a dense, super-hot plasma field around your object. To deflect stronger blasts, you will need a denser plasma in your shield.
