Houseflies
The common housefly does not have a 24-hour lifespan. In most cases, it can live up to a month. The larvae, or maggots, can live between 14 to 36 hours. Those that make it to the pupae stage will become adults that live up to a month.
Fire in Space
There is no fire in space because there is no oxygen in space. Fire needs oxygen, and many sci-fi films get that wrong for dramatic effect.
