From nationwide coding events to massive donations, Apple is another tech giant that seems to be consistently involved in charity work that aims to boost diversity in tech. Earlier this month, Apple pledged to donate more than $50 million to a collection of nonprofit groups that work to increase diversity in the tech industry, Forbes reported. Apple’s own diversity report, however, remains white washed. Overall, less than 10 percent of Apple’s workforce is Black. Only 3 percent of the employees in a leadership position are Black.
