This 3-D printing creation is not only interesting sculpturally but it’s also a game-changer for potential medical students. When it comes to education, anything that can make class more affordable is always a plus, and now that 3-D printers can create accurate medical models, it could be a lot less expensive to have such models available in more classrooms across the nation. So far, the printings have even been so accurate that some surgeons have used the 3-D printed creations to plan surgeries.
Superhero Prosthetics
Albert Manero has been giving a unique boost of confidence to many children in need of prosthetic limbs. Manero has been printing superhero-themed 3-D prosthetics and recently teamed up with Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. to present an Iron Man prosthetic arm to 7-year-old Alex Pring earlier this month.
