Legacy
Ormes was a powerhouse in comics history. In a time of intense racism in America, she used her incredible talent to give a voice to the voiceless. Her life was documented in the book “Jackie Ormes: The First African-American Woman Cartoonist” by Nancy Goldstein in 2008.
