Beacon Technology
Beacons transfer signals between connected devices that are near one another. The technology, which some retailers have already begun experimenting with, provides a way to communicate with consumers and track their purchasing habits. They can also be used for advertising, by sending a notification to the phones of nearby shoppers with an advertisement from the retailer.
