8. Cyborg (Victor Stone)

He first appeared in 1980 and is best known as a member of the Teen Titans. However, in 2011, he was introduced as a member of the Justice League. He appears in several video games, various animated films, the Teen Titans cartoon from 2003 to 2006 and can currently be seen in Teen Titans Go! In April 2014, it was announced that Ray Fisher will portray the superhero Victor Stone/Cyborg in the upcoming film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice as well as the follow-up Justice League film and a solo Cyborg film.

7. Blade

I’ve never been a big vampire fan, so when I came across Blade from Marvel Comics, I had to give Brother man his props. He is the coolest vampire hunter to walk in the sun. Wesley Snipes played Blade in three movies. Rapper Sticky Fingaz played him on television. Blade has had multiple comic titles, several video games and an anime.

  1. F*ck i hate racial pandering and i hate when people that don't like comics talks about it. Where is ICON? rocket? masquerade ? buck wild, Batwing? KALEL (the black superman of earth 23), steel? blue marvel, Firestorm, nighthawk. Etc. Black panter and luke cage are terrible, pandering heroes.

  2. Freedom is Right, remember the mantis had his own live Action TV show. This listing is a good PRESENTATION of black comic book characters you will see in the near future but it's terrible at telling whom are the best black comic characters.

  3. Spawn would not have made my list. But I think the list should have been more diverse to include not just superheroes. Michonne from Walking Dead. Dee from Rat Queens. So many to chose from.

  4. gtfo! Luke Cage is a great black superhero. No! A great comic hero period! Kalel(earth 23) is a fucking knock off of a white boy. At least Luke is original. You read like the type who thinks Alpha Flight was the bomb.

  5. What about Herald Jones, protector of Jade City? He is the first Black superhero with a radio serial, not to mention graphic novels, and a full theatrical play on top of that?

  6. I agree somewhat…Luke Cage is terrible for the fact that he's a blaxploitation character. Icon is only a good character because he's black which makes him kinda weak really. Batwing, Buckwild and Nighthawk are a joke. Black Panther is a really good character but is rarely written well. Kalel of Earth-23 is a very good one even if he is an alternate Superman. I also liked the original Night Thrasher…how often do you see wealthy black heroes who are team leaders? John Stewart was pretty good in the Justice League cartoons but wasn't anything that special in the comics, again because of how he was written and him being a B or C class character mostly. Bishop used to be one of my favorite black heroes until i found out he's really a native Australian. Static is good one but Cyborg, even though he's anoriginal character is trash and will always be the weakest and most expendable member of the Justice League.
