Incoming young professionals need to know that there are people who look like them in their respective fields. Women need ambassadors and role models. Science needs female scientists to be at the forefront recruiting and mentoring, as mentioned earlier. Until there are female Bill Nyes and Neil deGrasse Tysons, there are not many images that can inspire women and girls.
