Black consumers like fantasy games, but that information is not being relayed to the video game industry.
Dennis Mathews of Revelation Interactive Studios said, “People don’t know what they don’t know.” There needs to be a better grasp on consumer habits. It is very hard to serve a community of people that publishers and game developers don’t know very much about. The solution is very simple: research. If a group is not attracted to a certain game, don’t give up. Create ways to get them interested. If there are Black people and any other non-white, straight-male demographic interested in fantasy or sci-fi games, give them something to buy.
