Jennings’ work eventually caught the attention of abolitionist Frederick Douglass. Douglass wrote about the great work Jennings did. The wealth Jennings acquired helped him fund the Legal Rights Association in 1855 to help Black people fight against racism using the justice system. It became one of Jennings’ lasting contributions to history.
