The Xenogenesis Trilogy
One of her greatest bodies of work is the Xenogenesis trilogy, which includes “Dawn,” “Adulthood Rites” and “Imago.” These books, which were published sparsely from 1987 to 2000, focused on a people interbreeding with a strange alien race. The books were nominated for the prestigious Locus Award but never won.
Parable Duology
From 1993 to 1998, her Parable duology focuses on a dystopian California where resources and the environment are in shambles. “Parable of the Sower” (1993) and “Parable of the Talents” (1998) had themes of political and religious conflicts playing out in a world that is completely lacking of life.
