Math and science were their least favorite subjects in school. What true nerd doesn’t enjoy the mind-blowing experiments in chemistry and physics and the intricate design formed by the Fibonacci sequence?

Their nerd obsession is fantasy football.

They wear shirts that say “I Heart Nerds.” If you love nerds, you don’t have to say it or wear it.

They don’t know what their shirt truly represents. Che Guevara, the Argentinian-born revolutionary, is one of the most popular cultural icons in fashion. The irony of wearing a T-shirt depicting a Marxist icon keeps the trend in style, but how many hipsters really know the story behind the symbol?

  1. Why did you include me in this ridiculous article? And I say ridiculous because upon initially reading it I thought it was supposed to be satirical as none of these merit the spotting of a “fake nerd”.
A big problem is that most people today do not take the time to learn about people before categorizing them. And a lot of “writers” do not even attempt to learn facts about someone before they post their picture and then write something completely inaccurate while grouping them in the falsity. Yes there are often posers at Comic Con, but there are also people that go there because they are part of the culture and it’s what they truly love and identify with. You just took a picture you stumbled upon on the Internet and made assumptions, which is one of the most injudicious things you could do as a writer.
And to refute what you were trying to conclude, I don't actually like Superhero movies. I've only watched a few of them just because I think it's interesting to see the director’s take on what happens in the comics, and I also like to spot inconsistencies. And also, I prefer DC over Marvel, and video games over comics. 🙂
