Yoruichi Shihoin – Bleach
Yoruichi is actually at the center of one of the greatest Bleach debates — whether or not she is actually African-American. While the argument about her actual heritage is still going on today in forums and blog posts across the world, her skin color alone makes her a great option for any Black female cosplayer. She is the former captain of the second division of the Gotei 13 and also the former commander of the Onmitsukido. She ended up abandoning both positions and is known for her ability to turn into a black cat.
Miyuki Ayukawa – Basquash
The best thing about Miyuki is that she is literally an animated Blerd herself. The tech-savvy character is incredibly intelligent and sexy, which doesn’t come around often in the world of anime. As if Miyuki wasn’t already a fantastically unique character for any female cosplayer, she’s also one of the only Black female anime characters to be flaunting a beautiful head of dreadlocks.
