Since the launch of the streaming service, the majority of the press has been negative to say the least. “Tidal has already dropped out of the top 700 for all iTunes downloads,” Blerds reported last month. Kanye West has distanced himself from Tidal, deleting promotional tweets and being silent about the apparent failure of the service. To add to the bad press, Jay Z drops his “Tidal Facts” on Twitter to essentially explain that Tidal won’t be a success right out of the gate. Which is true.
