The Congo has 24 trillion dollars worth of raw mineral deposits. The nation holds 30% of the world’s Diamond reserves and 80% of the world’s Coltan, according to the UN.
For the farmers who left farming to mine coltan, I wonder if they have asked themselves if they can eat coltan? Another way to enslave people on short-sighted 'gains'–while local farming could feed populations who now have to rely on foreign 'charity'.
